Stan,

For some reason, when I tried to create a URL using the "[url]" commands with a "=" with this URL:

http://www.drbott.com/prod/action.lasso?-database=Products.fp3&-layout=All&publish=Yes&-response=RetailH.html&Vendor=West Ridge Designs&-logicalop=and&-maxRecords=20&-search=Start+Search

The BB was stopping the URL at the first HTML for a "space" = "% 20"

i don't know what this was happening. In PHP you could put a "urlencode" command around the reformatting code, but i have no idea what the PERL command would be.

Just thought I'd let you know about this potential issue, while the BB is still relatively small (though growing every day

John

***
"I know God won't give me anything I can't handle. which browser?? I have found that I have to go to the site I want to use the URL of and copy the URL and bring it back as often as not typing it in results in some internal error
see what happens when I do it your way
[color:blue]first up i found that copy pasting it from your post gave a return/space in the middle of west...ridge, but that by noting and deleting that space before posting, the URL worked fine

=============================================================
| "Behold the Turtle, he maketh no progress ==== until he sticketh out his neck." |
=============================================================

tree beard...

The URL works, and brings up a webpage from dr.bott that has no results, which is hardly useful.

click on your link, and you'll see what I mean.

john

***
"I know God won't give me anything I can't handle. no did you want results? oh..... sorry maybe i didn't pay enough attention.. some search engines don't want you cross linking searches and thus losing ad click revenue.
I recently noticed a change to a couple of search URLs that made my linking from another client outdated. I had to re-hack the urls otherwise all they would do was go to blank search pages and make me type and click...again

=============================================================
| "Behold the Turtle, he maketh no progress ==== until he sticketh out his neck." |
=============================================================

It has nothing to do with the search engine treebeard. It's lasso and FMP, and seems pretty quick to me here, perhaps it's the latency in your connection? I dunno.

the particular issue that I'm having is with the BB assuming that I'm typing in HTML when I'm not, or replacing characters that it shouldn't with other characters.

Just an FYI for Stan and the gang.

John

***
"I know God won't give me anything I can't handle.
