Checker, that is. There he was, at our local Borders, signing autographs while his music was playing over the store's speakers. It was kind of sad. He tints his hair. The makeup was so thick I could see it from about 15 feet away. But he was pretty game. He mugged for the old ladies who wanted pics with him. He smiled and joked. It was very strange.<br><br>

I saw a bit about him on the news a while back. He was upset with his cut of profits from the record producers or something and he was traveling around trying to promote his old music. I just remember feeling the same way you did; he appeared very desperate and sad. <br><br>
