doing a Hillary Clinton up in Illinois: [color:blue]Launching his first full day of campaigning for the U.S. Senate from Illinois, Alan Keyes said Monday he's the true representative of the Land of Lincoln, even though he's never lived in the state.

Well, at least this will be the first ever senatorial election in which two black guys are running against each other.

I've been paying close attention to Keyes since he decided to parachute into Illinois. All he has done so far is sling a bunch of mud at Barack Obama with absolutely nothing to back it up. The most peculiar thing is how he is trying to straddle the issue of his very presence in Illinois. When asked about the race and what he thinks of Obama, he makes sure to mention that he hadn't though about Illinois two weeks ago. Then when he wants to justify his presence here, he talks as though he was born to represent Illinois voters.

What a crock!

He's going to loose and everyone knows it. He's more of a political hit-man or mercenary, made to do as much damage to Obama as possible so that maybe the Republican base in Illinois will come out and vote in local races. The weirdest part is how his whole mission is to paint Obama as out of the mainstream. This is Illinois we are talking about here! More people showed up to vote for Daniel Hynes than all the Republican primary candidates put together.... and Barack Obama beat Hynes by more than twenty points!

I guess a state that elects pro-choice, pro-public education, and pro-gun control Republicans was just waiting for a dude who thinks abortion in cases of rape and incest violates the Declaration of Independence, kids should all be home-schooled, and God mandates people to have access to assault weapons!

-- Charlie Alpha Roger Yankee Whiskey
didn't keyes call hillary a carpet bagger because she only moved to NY to run for the senate? how ironic.

in any regard, i think this is just the republican party of illinois throwing the religious right a bone. i think keyes is going to focus on abortion, abortion, abortion and is really just using this opportunity as a platform for his views. keyes is about as conservative as one can get. i wouldn't be surprised to see obama win with 70% of the vote.

--
Yup yup...

When ever he is questioned about the apparent hypocrisy, he claims that Hillary Clinton's move to New York was wrong because she was using her national stature for personal ambition. Let's see Alan... national stature? I think two presidential runs can establish that. As far as personal ambition is concerned, he plays it off as though God sent Alan Keyes to come sling mud at Barack Obama.

I predict Keyes will get 20 or fewer points.

-- Charlie Alpha Roger Yankee Whiskey
Now I don't really get this. What makes him such a good debater? When I listened to him yesterday in interviews, he just interrupts who ever is talking to him and invokes God or the Declaration of Independence when he doesn't have anything to back him up.

-- Charlie Alpha Roger Yankee Whiskey
