No, I think it is a crock of ****.

Why are people afraid that if gay people are allowed to marry, then heterosexual couples are going stop getting married? I don't understand how banning or not banning gay people from marrying has any effect on heterosexual marriages?!?

Get away from the marriage issue, I say. Live and let live and then everyone can be happy.

The issue has nothing to do with Gay couples getting married, Hayesk. It has to do with the fact that once married, they are legally entitled to every benefit a straight couple is, including healthcare. With gay couples accounting for MUCH of the AIDS population, as well as other STDs, the costs of healthcare goes up for YOU to make up for it.

I'm MacGizmo,[color:red] and I approved this message.

Gay couples or gay single people? I would say gay people *not* in monogamous (sp?) relationships are more likely to get AIDS than married couples. People who marry tend not to sleep around (well, that's the idea). By disallowing gay people to marry, they're more likely to sleep around.

Regardless, that's an irrelevant factor. If AIDS was found to affect married hetero couples, would we ban hetero sexual marriage? Of course not. To decide something like marriage based on a theoretical cost of a loosely related healthcare issue is ludicrous.

This is not an issue of health care. It is an issue of ultra-conservative people with too many insecurities believing they should control how everyone lives their lives to give them a false sense of security.

Cut those health care benefits of those breeding heterosexuals. They probably want the lesbians to take care of their job while they sit home on their ass taking care of the rug-rats and get paid while their doing it! How dare them.

Warning: there is some slight sarcasm in the above post. This warning is for very stupid people who don't know what that is.
