Hi, <br>would it be a good idea to put a 7200 rpm HDD in my notebook? I'm concerned about heat, noise. Has anybody tested this yet? <br>am grateful for any advice,<br>thanx a lot<br><br>

where did you see 10K RPM in a notebook?<br><br>Battery life is affected about - 5% so that's not a real issue. The speed improvement will absolutely blow your mind.<br><br>Heat isn't an issue and the dive is quiter than the OEM drive but there is a slight hum if you're using a scratch disk in Photoshop.<br><br>It has the single best purchase I have made for my PowerBook G3 500 and my iBook 1Ghz<br><br>At one point I was even using one in an iMac LCD with a converter, a lot less heat in there...<br><br>go to www.barefeats.com where they did a really good review.<br><br><br><br>www.adzoox.com & www.jackwhispers.com

Ok, cool. But what about noise? Aren't those 7200 hdds a lot louder? I'll be using a Lombard PowerBook G3. Read the barefeat review, but didn't find anything on noise. <br><br>
