On tonights 11pm newscast, even though the longshoreman are still in negotiations, they are allowing a few ships to be loaded with cargo to Alaska. Because this is the only way they get deliveries in the remote areas they are making special arrangements to get supplies such as food and medicine. There is talk of also making plans for Hawaii should this go on. I've been thinking of you as I see this on the news several times a day. Hopefully this will come to a solution before too long. Think of the people like Lori who ordered a new computer and are waiting for stuff like that.
Nite, Shelli

Cheers, iRock
There are two major products that come out of Berkeley: LSD and [Unix] BSD. Did you know that the adverage dock worker makes about 60K a year as a starting salary???? Plus some of the beneis are outrages.

Yes, that is about the going rate for non-college degree union labor type jobs in this area. There is only one large employer like that in our area that employs about 1500 people. If they were to close our area would all but be a ghost town. Some of them have retired with excesses of a million dollars in their retirement. The stock market thing hasn't helped though.

Cheers, iRock
There are two major products that come out of Berkeley: LSD and [Unix] BSD.
