you know... chat rooms would be cool, but at the same time, the board only has 16X memberrs... so the chat rooms will have like one or two at most at one time... (maybe a few more, who knows for sure)

If we can get the registered number of users up to like 1000, and the number of active posters up to like 250 or so, then maybe a chat room would be worth MacMinute's effort, but honestly, in my opinion, right now isn't time for a chat room that will lay dormant 23 out of 24 hours...

Just my opinion...

***
"I know God won't give me anything I can't handle. you know?... with the little used private message feature this forum, the way it is set up now is as good as a chat room. We can see each other or not, we can whisper to each other or not. Yes there are never any more than five people and normally only 2 at best here at any one time... So like, what is the real need for one? I don't really forsee the need for one as this room has ICQ AIM #'s, private messages, mail links, whatever you want/...and nobody is ever here at the same time as me hardly unless we are both up at the wrong time of day.

=============================================================
| "Behold the Turtle, he maketh no progress ==== until he sticketh out his neck." |
=============================================================
Yulp, yulp, yulp. Agree there appears to be no need of a chat room.

I think it takes a while to build an active cafe/forum. As people post and get to know what they can expect and ask from one another, more usefull exchanges take place. Lurkers get brave and jump in to post and participate and bring others to the fold.

Build it and they will come.

I think a chat room is something we can look at in the future, but I have to agree with the other Members here -- we need to get the membership up a little higher first.

I had a real-time chat room in the early days of MC and I really like them. I will add it to the list of things to revisit.

Cheers,

Stan
