There are a few things that are true for most cats and dogs. Some examples are Cats: lower maintenance, cute not smelly vs. dogs: high maintenance, shows affection more than most cats (not that cats don't), and are larger for the most part. some things that very for every pet: intelligence (i.e. my cat is above average here where my dog is really really stupid, however this may be because of a brain tumor), smell (I have the WORST smelling dog i have ever met, cat doesn't at all), and activeness (I have seen lazy dogs before and both my dog and cat are very active and will run away. ......but they come back ). it is more of a preference than a superiority thing here, i myself prefer cats to dogs.
