I have about 20 pictures I want to email, but they're huge and not everyone has DSL. Plus when I 'insert' them into the email, they are so big you can't see the whole picture on the screen. Entourage does not have a feature (that I've found) that lets me manage image size. So I need to bring them down to a reasonable size. Normally, when I have a few I'll use Photoshop to scale them down and do a Save for Web, which brings the image down from megs to a kbs.

The idea of doing that for a flock of pictures is too much to think about. It's not how I want to spend my weekend.

So, my brothers and sisters in the creative world (or not) can you suggest a way to manage this?

Well, if you can make a Photoshop action that is appropriate for all the pictures (say, scale to 50% and save for web), you can use that with Photoshop's "Batch" command to automate that process ... push the button then go outside and take a nap on the hammock ;-)

***matt

Turn up the signal, wipe out the noise ...

iPhoto makes it fast and easy. Put the pics in an album. click on the album , choose "export" from the file menu. You will then get a message box to put in the dimensions you want.

Once you export to the desktop, you can then zip/stuff the folder and attach to an email.

Or you can shift click the photos in iPhoto and click on the email button on the bottom.

Or you can use a third party app like Resize!

there are a lot more apps out there to do the same also

My Stuff

Take Lori's advice and go with the iPhoto method, super easy. The Batch function in Photoshop is great but more complex to set up unless you've done it a lot.
