Hey all,

As you may have noticed, we added the standard banner rotation to the forum today. Gotta pay the bills...

I just wanted to mention it so that you would know that we have no intentions of flooding the Café with advertising. It will only ever be the one banner.

That being said, what I plan to do is find someone to sponsor the Café -- or at least parts of it -- so we can hard-wire them in and avoid banner rotation. If you have anyone in mind that might be interested, please let me know -- sflack@macminute.com.

The bottom line is that advertising is a necessity, but MacMinute will always keep it to a minimum. Not to fear...

Cheers, and thanks -- as always -- for your support. You guys have been fabulous at visiting the sponsors and I just wanted to let you know that I appreciate it. Our numbers are some of the best in the industry and it is solely thanks to you guys -- don't forget to keep on clicking -- it is what makes MacMinute possible. I don't want to bore you with schematics, but seeing as we are all family here, click-thru yields (or the percentage of clicks on a banner compared to the number of times it is seen) is very low in the industry right now. MacMinute is ten times the norm and I have you to thank for it!

Thank you,

Stan

ps - I would be remiss if I didn't mention the way all of you have spread the word of MacMinute to your friends and colleagues. Obviously we want people to know that we are here and what we are doing -- it is critical to our success, so your efforts have not gone unnoticed. Keep it up, and for our part, we will do our utmost best to bring you what you need everyday. I have never perceived MacMinute as some sort of corporate site, but it is yours as well as mine. Community is what the Mac is based on and MacMinute will continue that legacy.
I think we all understand about how web sites are financed. I have absolutely no complaint at all about advertising, especially when it's kept to a minimum.

And thanks for making this such a great site

And that's true too.--Shakespeare, King Lear
