I agree. I saw the last tour with DLR and haven't since. That was the sound I knew. I remember on my first day of high school (1979) this kid has a boom box and was cranking Runnin' With the Devil on a boom box. It was echoing off the brick walls and I thought that was pretty cool. I was never really a big VH fan though. I was more of Pink Floyd guy. I saw Hagar open for Black Sabbath pre VH. He had an album called Standing Hampton if memory serves. I liked his cover Piece Of My Heart.

Oh..I loved seeing VH with DLR live..man, talk about putting on a show! First VH concert I saw was in 82..paid $8.50 for it

I'll have to see how this one sounds. Eddie never rocked as much with Sammy or that other guy Gary.

In reply to:

they were never as good without him either.

Yes, that would explain all the record-breaking sales they had AFTER DLR left.

Van Halen is NOTHING without Sammy Hagar, and they know it - that's why he's back (which I'll believe when I see).

On a side note, why the hell are the touring with no new album to promote?

[color:green]When you eat a can of beans you can't be sure which one made you fart.

On a side note, why the hell are the touring with no new album to promote?

They have a 'Greatest Hits V.2' coming out soon- with a few new tracks by Sammy..

yoyo- I don't even have to bother with the city if I don't want to. I can basically shoot down 95 into Westchester, cross the Tappan Zee, and take the Thruway all the way to the Palisades Parkway, go all the way down the Parkway to the GW Bridge, then take the NJ Turnpike all the way down to the Meadowlands...

I know the area a little better than Worcester anyway...

[color:red]You slap my back, I'll slap yours!

"Besides, used to you could understand Dylan."

Translation, anyone?

There are just a few singers whose voices are either annoying, or I've just never been able to understand the attraction: Bob Dylan, Geddy Lee, Neil Young, Tom Waits, and Johnny Cash, to name a few. Their voices are like fingernails down a chalkboard for me.
