Believe me, I've done the same thing, DM. And I mean a LOT. I don't know about Sam's initial post; I don't hang out at SpyMac. I replied about MacCentral. It's another forum, and it's undergoing another troll; I guess it's going around. The thing is, why should anyone have to put up with trolls? To use Sam's toilet analogy, what if every time you went into your favorite bar, someone opened the roof and emptied a Port-a-Potty on everyone's head? And everyone is supposed to just turn around and enjoy their beer? It wouldn't be your favorite bar for long! Often, I wonder if that's the intent of the string of trolls at MacCentral--to make people so miserable they'll leave.

Shooshie

[color:green]Pictures and things

Funnily, the word troll was first introduced to me at MCF and has most appeared since in relation to MCF.. is it the name that attracts them?

Often, I wonder if that's the intent of the string of trolls at MacCentral--to make people so miserable they'll leave.

Personally, I never left because of any troll or sockpuppet- I left because I was being made to feel like a brainless moron by a 'regular member'. I didn't come to MacMinute because I agree with everyone in here 100% of the time (see 'backslappers'), but what I did find was a smaller, more reasonable group of people who can carry on an argument or a discussion without resorting to personal attacks when something goes against their personal beliefs.

And thankfully, even when a few of us DO get in a scuffle, the grudges held around here are mercifully short..

[color:red]You slap my back, I'll slap yours!

Actually, if you do a search for FreeRider in this forum, you may still find a few of his posts* But if you try to access his profile -- it is no longer here.

Does that mean he use to frequent this place but has been "removed" from membership?
*

I do not know. Quite frankly, the Spirit of FreeRider is still present at MacCentral and only he and the Shadow knows . . . heh, heh, heh . . . Free has many names and faces; his voice is always the same.

KateMate

whatever *rollseyes*

They should have just banned FreeRider without the fake warning from Jim. The warning was pretty transparent. Some folks didn't like FreeRider, complained and complained alot. Jim banned FreeRider with this phony this is your last warning post as a cover.

[color:blue]All your sock puppets are belong to us

spymac does not fit the description that sam gave in his first post. for one, spymac appears to have more conservative members than "commies" (if any). spymac is crummy for other reasons.

Kate, no offense, but I'm gonna throw out a big fat 'WHO CARES'....

I'm noticing a distinct abundance of free time if people are going to start digging through profiles and home pages just to expose some loser on the other end of an ethernet cable...

Not everyone here (contrary to popular belief) has the same slant on life that FreeRider does, but at the same time no one got their dander up enough to go running to the admin and have him/her banned from MM...

[color:red]You slap my back, I'll slap yours!
