What is the deal with that other forum? I hate to tell tales out of school, but it's been quite the broken toilet recently. Sure, you can pee in it, but the turds floating in it are still there. I stopped posting there regularly when the commies couldn't keep from flooding the board with their propaganda, nor could the elders and their band of flying monkeys keep from looking down their noses at opposing viewpoints, and then circling and attacking. But lately it's been out of hand. I feel unclean when browsing through there.<br><br>It's almost like creeping yourself out on a page about ghost stories... then you have to go to a happy site before you can go to bed. Same deal with that other forum. Out, damned spot!!!<br><br>

The deal with MacCentral is that there seems to be a queue of anonymous agitators waiting to become the next avengers of all the wrongs foisted upon the world by the commies and libbies. For example, the current guy signed up about three weeks ago and has made over 200 posts in that short time, with growing intensity, gradually insulting more and more people. The behavior has become an established one; it happens again and again. <br><br>Why? If someone wants to talk, what's wrong with just posting or joining conversations? It's a little hard to ignore a guy with adolescent maturity level who makes that many flame-baiting posts with a mentality that he's going to teach everybody a lesson. Where does he even get the time for it? <br><br>It seems to me that whoever does it isn't really there to interact with us in any way other than to stir up the hornet's nest and make MacCentral look like a mean and dirty place. I've seen this forum just as bad, if not worse, on many occasions. <br><br>As one who fell for some of the present agitator's bait-posts, I hope it dies down soon. We just begin to enjoy normal conversation in our forum when another jerk has to come along and start flame wars again. It would really be nice if it would stop, but there appear to be some people carrying grudges who don't intend to ever let it stop. But I think you're wrong to cast the entire blame on the people of MacCentral or the "elders and their band of flying monkeys." Consider the entertainment challenged person who anonymously enters that forum, usually to fond welcomes, and then just proceeds to rip everything to shreds--with plenty of smiley faces, this time. He isn't the victim of political oppression; he's just a flame-baiter who, like most flame-baiters, has reached the martyrdom point where he starts screaming "look, look, they're beating me up!." If you actually were to read carefully, you'd find some pretty well-reasoned responses to him. And he backs off now and then. He's really good! He plays the forum like a fish on a line. Backs off, sounds humble, then hits people again... backs off, a little more fake humility, then insult. it's really nice to see your concern for the "other" forum that you stopped posting to regularly some time ago. like yoyo, i don't see the problems there any more prevalent than i see problems here. this forum has its moments as well, though this forum doesn't have a sockpuppet agitator trying to wreak havoc at the moment. MC is larger in membership, so it will have its problems more amplified at times. it's happened in the past and it will happen again...especially in an election year.<br><br>

Trog, Freerider was banned from MacCentral for continuing rude behavior after many requests from many people, including myself, to stop it. Some are trying to spread the rumor that he was banned for his politics, but nothing could be further from the truth. MC has many people who are further out than he ever was, politically, and there has never been talk of banning anyone for a political position. It was entirely because of continuing rudeness to other members, and only after a year of it. On top of that, he was apparently spoofing his IP, which is like waving a red cape in front of a forum administrator. Believe me, I've done the same thing, DM. And I mean a LOT. I don't know about Sam's initial post; I don't hang out at SpyMac. I replied about MacCentral. It's another forum, and it's undergoing another troll; I guess it's going around. The thing is, why should anyone have to put up with trolls? To use Sam's toilet analogy, what if every time you went into your favorite bar, someone opened the roof and emptied a Port-a-Potty on everyone's head?
