Does anyone know if the Apple Pro Speakers would work with my PowerBook G3 Pismo? I've read something on Apple's site, that it draws power from the minijack and it's designed for the G4 tower. Does that mean that it wont work with my PowerBook? I want to watch DVDs in the bed!

I think (but i have no speakers to test this) they only work with an "apple pro speaker" port as they are sligtly different to a standard headphone jack port.

Without sensibility no object would be given to us, without understanding no object would be thought. You need one of the newer G4 towers with the Pro speaker port to use the Apple Pro Speakers. however you can buy non-apple speakers that use USB that are just as good and cheaper.

Like Margadagio says, there are other good speakers for a lot less. I have Benwins, and they are really good, two different models. They're on sale at computergeeks from time to time for next to nothing.

Great wits are sure to madness near allied.--John Dryden, "Absalom and Achitophel"

Altec Lansing makes a great 3-speaker set for around $69. It has a big bass-woofer and two tower speakers. I have the set and I can say that it actually rivals a low to mid-end car stereo!

[color:red]semicolon dash parenthesis
