As I was leaving the Apple store today, I stopped to listen to a salesman talking to a couple of people about .Mac. I didn't hear all of it, but it did sound interesting.

Do any of you use it?

"I think of a man. Then I take away reason and accountability."
Yes all the time the best way to send client samples etc.

"Peace cannot be kept by force. It can only be achieved by understanding." Albert Einstein

Yes, but for a dumb reason.
I had a free .Mac account when it first became available.
When they wanted money I paid for it so I could keep my .Mac e-mail address.
There are some good benefits like software discounts, homepage, iDisk etc.

I like it. It has lots of capabilities and can be accessed from any computer. I am going to change ISPs and it will stay a constant when I change. Love the free software and web page templates. Easy squeezy!

Yeah, but it's almost 100 bucks. That's a lot for a permanent email address. I suppose my biggest concern is security. I'm not sure I like the idea of putting personal stuff 'out there'. Apple could open my stuff if they wanted. Or someone could hack in, and there goes my address book.

Did you go through the same thoughts?

"I think of a man. Thanks, Yoyo. Enlightening.

I think I'll pass on .Mac for now. I can use the money somewhere else.

"I think of a man. Then I take away reason and accountability."
