What is it with the hillbillies in my apartment building and their almost addictive desire to run up and down the stairs as if they're participating in the running of the bulls at Pamplona, Spain?

When I win the lottery, I am going to buy 10,000 acres in the middle of the desert, build a mansion in the middle, and put up 40 feet electric fences with razor wire on top all the way around it.

EVERYBODY OUT!!!

(whew...time to move...now back to your regularly scheduled posting)

perhaps you should look into buying your own home. first time home buyers can really get a lot of help (e.g., very, very low down payment). you could probably find a home that has payments very similar to your rent...even if it's more, it's money you are paying to you rather than to a landlord. and, you wouldn't have to battle the hillbillies any more.

click for more

It's funny you mention that....

I used to be one of these people who always thought they would rent, based on my desire to have someone else do the yard work chores, fix things, etc.

But now, I am slowly starting to see why people buy houses.

hehehe...

My mom did that the first time she visited me and stayed over. She woke up at 5am on Sunday (jetlagging) and decided she was going to put a bedside table together -- one of those IKEA pieces.

She promptly put the table pieces on the bedroom floor (which is the ceiling of my downstairs neighbor's bedroom) and began hammering.

Suffice to say, we heard the outraged thump of a mop from my floor -- yeah, that ended that!

Dude...we were playing tag...sorry for all the noise!

Sean, owning a house would be nice..but don't forget all the costs of ownership that go into it. Taxes and upkeep seem to be the major things...since people like me can't afford a nice new home like some people **coughMikeBXcough**
