hehehe... not to belittle your problem, but perhaps you have some bugs inside the enclosure that are enjoying themselves at 4am or so.....

hehe... best of luck with the problem...

***
"The heart of the wise inclines to the right, but the heart of the fool to the left."
-- Ecclesiastes 10:2

Did you replace the hard drive or any other internal hardware? Some components will beep sometimes... Adaptec's SCSI cards, for instance, will beep once for every SCSI device connected to them at a startup.

havent replaced the hard drive or done anything other than hook up some USB stuff. and the beep doesnt happen at startup, just when its sleeping. heres my setup if itll help..

600mhz graphite imac
512mb RAM
apple pro mouse & keyboard
somesortof USB hub with a samsung ML4600 printer and a epson stylusscan 2500 printer and the cord for my kodak digital camera plugged in

Tried unplugging the USB hub and watching it for a while? Work your way backwards - no third-party hardware, no third-party software... a scientific method should determine the culprit.
