Canon going for 25% market share - releasing 20 new digital cameras in 2004! Read the story here. I was all set to grab a Canon G5, but I might just wait a while to see if the price comes down on it after new ones get released.

Visit My Web Site!

20?!? That can backfire on them. Too many models can confuse customers. Remember Apple in the mid-90s. Would you like the LC475 or the Performa 476 or 477?

Though I'm a Nikon fan myself, I hope Canon knows what they are doing, as I do like their products too.

Agreed, too much choice can be a bad marketing strategy. Which Cannon will I take..... hmmmm.... I'll just take a Sony :)

___________________________________________
I'm just another Mac user at an 8 hour day Dilbert style cubicle job....
The PowerShot G5 just has my eye. It offers everything I can ever dream of using - and even if they release a 6, 7 or 8MP prosumer camera, that still isn't enough of a leap to make any increase in cost worth it. It seems that camera makers have decided to re-create the mhz myth with megapixels - even though more MP doesn't actually mean "better image quality."

Visit My Web Site!

I've not ever looked at the PowerShot G5. What are some of the things you like about it or that has sold you on it?
