WOWIE!!! We just got a dandy of a present! My oldest daughter who lives in Boston told us she was gonna spend Xmas w/her bf's family this year.

So guess who just rang my doorbell? SURPRISE!!! (and ther whole time, my 10-yr-old was in on the trick). Wheeee!!!

That's great! I would have liked to seen the look on your face when you opened the door.

I got a great photo album. It's leather bound and the inside is framed with walnut.

The gift I am beginning to regret giving is Simpsons Road Rage for the Xbox. My daughter is playing it and I'm getting car sick.

The thread killer
I got stuff, gave stuff, and also I got a card from an old friend. Actually, the first time we met was the day I was born. From there, we were like sisters for most of our lives.

When we were 16, her father killed himself and her mother. She lived with my parents and I for a while. Then came the drugs, and more drugs. Finally, she became a crack head living on the streets of Miami. We lost contact because she would not let me help her. She tried to lie to me about using. I told her 'good luck' and walked away. It was hard, but I couldn't watch anymore. I had a dream a few years ago that she called me and told me that she was dead. I was being to believe it might be true.

In her card were pictures of her and a beautiful, healthy baby boy. She wrote a note with a number, I called. She's been off drugs for over a year. She is in love with her baby. She said that she never will go back. She's all about making a real life for herself and her son. All I can say is ROCK ON! Good news! She broke my heart with all of that nonsense in the past. I'm not too big on all of the holiday stuff, but honestly, that was a great gift to receive.
