http://www.macintouch.com/index.shtml#formac

I know Giz has a Formac display, just thought I'd post this link to the story. Sounds like the company may have closed shop in the US.

This I find particularly disturbing (the bursting into flames part):

"My Formac Gallery 1740 digital display [color:red]burst into flames three days ago. If I had not been at home it may have been a disaster. Since the display is still under warranty I have attempted to contact Formac to arrange for repairs or replacement under warranty. I have spent the last three days trying to contact Formac Electronics, the US division based in Berkeley, CA. They do not answer calls to either of the two phone numbers they publish. They do not respond to any email inquiries."

I saw the same story somewhere else... Not sure what's going on with them. They stated that they were moving their offices, but that was around a month ago - they should have been up and running by now. This is poor, poor planning on their part, and I suspect that this will all but kill the company (if it hasn't already gone out of business).

While my experience with the company and my 20" LCD couldn't have been better, I won't recommend them to anyone anymore.

BTW, I don't believe the guy about the "bursting into flames" BS.

What?
Visit Me!
