Loc: The Wizard's Balcony
Is there anything that anyone knows of that I can get that will enable to play my computer through my stereo? I realize that I could get a really long (computer's in my bedroom and stereo's in the living room) 1/8" to RCA adapter, but I don't think that would sound too great.

I'm just wondering because I'm having an "it's the end of the semester so let's drink a keg" party next weekend, and I thought it would be nice to not have to worry about music.

Incedentally, anyone who may be in the area is invited.

I use a Y-cable- stereo plug on one end (to go into headphone jack in Mac) and 2 RCA plugs on the other end- one for each of your stereo inputs...

Why wouldn't it sound too great?

Either that, or you spend mucho bucks and you get something like the SlimMP3 device, which uses a network solution to get the music from your Mac to the stereo. But that's like $300...

I had the same setup in my old house. I even ran wires to outdoor speakers I mounted in the bathroom so I could listen to iTunes while in the shower. It sounded the same as if I just popped in a CD and listened to that.
