I've purchased 4 macs from the Apple store online over the past few years, either for myself or for someone in my family. <br><br>All four have been significantly delayed. The B.S. is getting old. <br><br>My sister wanted me to help her by ordering her eMac and bringing it to her for Christmas. I ordered early last week (2-3 day est. shipping). After 3 days it was bumped to today, then today it was bumped to the 9th. Now, with standard shipping, I don't know if it will even make it before we leave for Christmas. <br><br>I understand that its common to run into snags with these orders, but after the fourth time I'm beginning to think they just string you along with fast order estimates when they really know there is no chance of shipping. Grrrrr!!<br><br>
If it's one of the hot models, its because of product delays, not because of the store's S&H. I ordered a 17" PB on Saturday and had it on Tuesday—but demand for those is not as hot as the 12 or 15" right now.<br><br>
I can't imagine its a hot model, just the eMac without superdrive. Its not even listed in the top 20 of things sold. <br><br>If you go to place an order for one right now at the Apple store online with the same specs as mine what does it show?<br>1-3 business days. Uh huh. <br><br>
It's the cheapest Mac you can buy. It is definitely a hot model.<br><br>Although, I agree, they should update their shipping info. If it says 1-3 days, then you should get yours then too, if you haven't made any special build-to-order requests.<br><br>
Well, maybe it is a hot model, but its not even in the top twenty selling items at the Apple store, like the powerbook, 17" iMac, G5, iBook, etc. So, relative to some of the other Mac models, its not that hot.<br><br>Not that it really matters, what ticks me off is that supposedly ordering one right now is 1-3 business days, when I know that is a load of bulls*it. Mine was also 1-3 days a week and a half ago and now its scheduled for another five days from now. Just like back with the G5 delay fiasco, its the flat-out LYING that pisses me off. <br><br>

Every last order I have placed with the online apple store has been delayed, or cancelled in disappointment. I have a new policy when it comes to Apple product....if I am not holding it in my hand, it doesn't exist. <br><br>
If you call Apple and complain about it, and tell them your situation I would bet they will bump it up to the express shipping option at no charge. I know they have done that in the past for similar complaints.<br><br>Ryan
That's a good point, and I was thinking of doing that in the morning.<br><br>They always send the delay email immediately after all the customer support lines close for the day, but I'm sure its just coincidence. <br><br>
