Yeah, got the same message. All these sites saying that its been shipping to various people for over a week now... I ordered my copy immediately the day it became available. Maybe educational discounted stuff is lower priority OR the rumors on the web that it is shipping early are a bunch of phooey. Unfortunately, I had mine shipped to the university which will NOT be getting mail on the 24th, so its monday for me too.

I ordered mine through the Edu store. Supposed to ship Wed or Thurs. So it comes anytime btwn Sat and Tues. No one ever said it would deliver on the 24th — just that it would ship on that date. And that was merely a target date set to manage customer expectations. If it ships a day or so early, so much the better.

My email ends with "we look forward to delivering Mac OS X.2 to you by Saturday,
August 24th." So I expect to get it on Saturday, August 24th or heads will roll

Great wits are sure to madness near allied.--John Dryden, "Absalom and Achitophel"

In reply to:

No one ever said it would deliver on the 24th

My email said the same as yoyo's. I know its not a guarantee, but if they can't ship things to those who preorder by at least the same time it shows up for parties in retail stores, what's the point? Hmmm... maybe I could call FedEx and arrange a way to get it on saturday...

I got the same email this weekend at work..says delivered on the 24th.

Well, I called them in the hopes of changing the shipping address as it's going to my work, which is closed on Sat.! No go...but they upgraded it to an overnight, at no cost to me, but that's if it ships either wed or thursday....
