Does anyone know of a standalone CD burner (no computer necessary) capable of recording live speech?

A friend who records all church sermons onto cassette, makes multi-copies of the tapes, then distributes them to the parish is looking for a way to record directly to CD so he can get away from cassettes.

The church doesn't own a computer, nor do they have the money in their budget to buy one.

"640K ought to be enough for anybody." - Bill Gates

Interesting thought. I record using my Powerbook, then burn the CD. That appears to be the easiest method. There is a catalog, that I have seen which carry multi disk CD burners and tape copiers. I'll have to check the company name. They may carry what she is looking for.

It just occured to me that ibook with a cd burner would be cheaper than any tape duplicator (a good stereo one cost about $2500).

She should get an iBook and a griffin iMic.
