I've got to say.....the Reds were idiots to let Jack McKeon go...this guy is the real deal...and a VERY nice guy...had a chance to see him speak at an event right after he was hired back in 97.

Our loss is the Marlins win!

I'll never forget the time in the fall of 1999 when you and I dissected the country on sporting event adventures. I drove over to Pittsburgh to see the Steelers in fabled Three Rivers Stadium and you drove to Milwaukee to see the Reds play the Brewers at County Stadium in the last game of the season.

As Steph and I drove back to Dayton from Pennsylvania, we hit the leading edge of the weather system that was delaying your game in Wisconsin: 40 degree temperatures and heavy rain. We flipped on the radio as we got in to Ohio only to hear that the Reds game was under a rain delay and it was already 9:00pm. If I remember right, the game didn't get started until around 10:30 and stretched until almost 2:00am!

The Reds HAD to play that game because they had a chance to tie the Mets for a playoff spot. The Reds, under Jack Mac's leadership, then came home and played a one game playoff at Riverfront Stadium the next night.

What a night!

The times may change, but one thing remains the same, we are two regional LAs!
