Yes it does seem extreme. Iv been there. Student handbooks used to be a few sheets of paper stapled on the side. I saw ours go from that to a veritable book . Page after page of "not alloweds"

But, people do forget the concept of the school. It's meant to be a stable place where students can learn. Distractions from this can get in the way of learning if they distract from the concept being taught so instructors have to repeat constantly.

Also, I've seen it happen so many times and make nation news blogs like this. The kids do this just for the distraction. Then their parents get into it. Much of the time the parents think they have to "support" their kid because it makes them out to be a bad parent, when, it probably doesn't mean that.

After all. Parents don't know what is going on with their kids. They think they do but they don't. Kids play one game in school, one when with their friends, and a completely different game at home.

As for this situation. The hair is probably not so bad, but it is against the student policy which the parent should have read.

Then we get the media into it so we really don't know what's going on

We are just wasting our time
