I saw that tip before asking my question. I was unable to find the Now Software folder in the AppData folder.

C:\Users\{username}\AppData

I also checked the Local, Roaming, and the Program File folders. Do you know anywhere else it can be located at? I think I'm getting that error because those preference folder aren't being created during installation.

Under Vista, try looking under:

C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\Now Software

or, just try searching by either 'Now Up-to-Date prefs' or 'Now Up-to-Date prefs'.
