Two problems running event server on Leopard

1 there appear now to be 2 instances, both of which are called public event server, though the clients are connected to Mander diary server

2 they connect sporadically, but looking at the server it flicks between running and stopped on around a 2 second cycle. Is this a known bug? I downloaded 5.3.2 this afternoon.
