I read that when the later ones (8MB video ram) run ubuntu the resolution preferences have an option for 1024x768. That was a while ago, and I can't remember if anyone had any success. Since I have a first generation I have never been able to test this. if you boot it from a ubuntu live boot CD report back on what happens because I am curious. As for my use of the clamshell, I have it running 10.4.8 on 320MB of ram and I use it for my web server, file server, printer server, music, etc
