I just spoke with Apple iPhone Tech Support... the servers are so jammed the update will not work even if you manually download the 2.0 software -- which I tried... DOH! -- and try and install it that way.

The tech guy said it doesn't matter how you download it, considering the iPhone updates must always access Apple servers for activation info (a little paranoid there, Apple?), the update will not work. He also stated Apple is having software-related server errors of their own and they will not be resolved for a couple of hours!

Nothing wrong with your iPhone or updates... there are MAJOR problems on Apple's end.

I hate to say I told you so, but... (gloat, gloat, gloat!)

droog

Edited by droogie on 07/11/08 12:44 PM (server time).
