I have a question for all you wireless people out there...

Have you ever gone to a store or someplace else that had internet and were you able to connect via wireless?

If so, how does that work? Are you on YOUR provider then? Would iChat work still? Would it be YOUR IP address or the one where you are connecting through?

We have internet at work, DSL, and I was wondering, if say I took my soon to be mine iBook to work and it had an airport card in it...would it connect? We have a pretty strong security and firewall on there..due to privacy...just wondering....
